Last Sunday (June 8 2008) I went out on a photo trip to the Fife Vintage Agricultural Machinery Club and had a great afternoon photographing a large number of vintage machines. You can find out contact details of this club from fifedirect - FVAMC page. A few pictures of this event are shown below.
All I can say is thank goodness the Irish has shown some guts and rejected the EU reform treaty. I for one do not like big government as they take control over all aspects of people lives - and I suspect that this is how Hitler started in the 1930’s
Adobe Creative Suite - installation problems on Windows Vista
I just purchased Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Standards - it contains two of my favourite web development programmes, namely Dreamweaver and Fireworks. I had to buy the full product for one of my computers than runs Windows Vista as my workhorse - a 7 year old Dell computer was starting to slow me down a bit and I could not install my existing Dreamweaver 2004MX successfully on the computer running Vista. So off I went a spent a load of cash to buy the latest version of Dreamweaver CS and Fireworks so that I could increase my productivity. Well it did lead to a few frustrating hours trying to get Adobe Creative Suite to install on the Vista operating system. It worked fine (the installation process) on my old Windows XP running Service pack 2, yet died a death every time I tried to install it on my new computer running Vista.
Of course the answer to this problem is out there, not unfortunately on the Adobe website and as I remember having this same problem with other Creative Suite products it is obvious that Adobe need to get their act together and improve the installation process of their products. The answer of course was on the internet and I used the horror story and solution provided on the amazing Crucial Limit website (Dave Gillem is a flash designer) and the answer is on Dave’s blog page under Adobe CS3 install horror (an aptly named entry). My solution summary is given below, please be aware I do not accept any responsibility for you using this instruction list, I do hope it helps you get Adobe Creative Suite installed on your computer, Vista or Windows XP Professional.
What I did to install Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Standards
Delete previous versions - I had to delete ALL my existing Adobe software first - you may only need to remove previous versions of Adobe Create Suite i.e. version Adobe Creative Suite 2, or any trial versions.Delete previous versions - I had to delete ALL my existing Adobe software first - you may only need to remove previous versions of Adobe Create Suite i.e. version Adobe Creative Suite 2, or any trial versions.
Reboot your computer and then copy the Adobe Creative CS3 folder to your desktop and run the installation from this folder. You may be lucky and have it install from the DVD, if not just copy the files over and run from the hard disk.
All going well your installation should now work - good luck!
